Felt Faction

The previous WHITE prefelt was of mixed material: 90 % merino fibres and 10% synthetic fibres.
Now this material is 100% merino fibres and the width  is 2 metres!

In March 2007  we will have a completely new prefelt base.
This material is 100% merino wool and it is designed for embroidering felt.

The base for embroidery is a new material; wide (220 cms) needlefelt. It’s colour is tile red and it is available in two different thicknesses.

This is also a trial product from the factory. This prefelt has been manufactured by fulling (it is not a needled prefelt). You can tell a needle prefelt because of the clear needle marks. Fulled prefelt has been produced without needles; the wool fibers have been flattened together with hot steam and press. The result is 2,3 mms thick prefelt, which feels like finished felt (but it is prefelt and requires felting in order to become a durable accessory). This material is ideal for machine sewing, as it is flat and already feels firm.

Snowfelt is an industrially finished felt (not a prefelt), ready for sewing accessories or interior decorations!
Can be washed in water (machine wash with wool, 0 degrees) and it can beautifully hand-dyed!

This is a trial material from the factory, there are no guarantees that this material is av ailbale in the future (it is too time consuming and challenging to produce).
Super Jytky-felt has 800 grams of merino wool per sq. metre! Colour is white, width is 2 metres and thickness 6 mms!

Prefelt is industrially needled wool into an even bed and its looks like soft fabric. Coloured prefelts have 150 grams of merino fibres per sq. meter. This is just the suitable thickness when you make e.g. scarves, mitten, decorations like flowers or accessories.
