Felt Faction is a company founded by Elina Saari and Aki Leppänen in 1999.
One could easily call this felt roller coaster or simply way of life.They work throughout night and day together, dye pots are boiling out on the back yard, sauna turns are being competed against drying felt hats and there is wool and felt stored everywhere in their home.
In the beginning Elina was felting mainly unique hats and wall textiles, nowadays she felts almost anything! Wool is shaped by Elina’s hands skillfully, but material itself and its long lonely felting sessions in hot sauna keep also the entrepreneur’s mind humble.
Today Felt Faction can offer everyone, who wants to have felting as their hobby, felting materials, which are as unique as Elina’s own products. She has been developing most of the materials she sells. She has tested all of the materials herself, so she has truly honestly say that they very extremely functional.
Elina also gives lectures and workshops in Finland and also abroad. Her tutoring method is colourful, entertaining and uncompromising. The joy of making felt by hand and passion for felt shows in all her doing.
